1. Who we are

Graphics and Graphite Ltd is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Any reference to "we", "us", or "Brevity Email" in this policy means Graphics and Graphite Ltd.

2. What data we process

We do not ask you to create an account to use Brevity Email, and we do not collect your name or email address in order for you to use it. The data we process is limited to:

• Draft email text. When you select text (or an entire draft) and choose to shorten it, that text is sent from the extension to our backend, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the rewrite, then returns the result to you. We do not store this text ourselves — it exists only for the moment needed to produce your rewrite.
• An anonymous install identifier. A random identifier is generated once when you install the extension and stored only in your own browser. It's included with each shorten request so we can apply fair-use limits on the free tier. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any other identifying information, and we have no way to connect it back to you.
• Standard technical request data. As with any web request, our hosting provider processes routine technical data — such as IP address and timestamp — as part of normal server operation.

3. Why we process it

• We process your draft text to perform the shortening you've directly requested — this is necessary to provide the service you're actively using in that moment.
• We process the anonymous install identifier on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and operating a workable free tier fairly across everyone using it.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to operate Brevity Email, each acting as a processor on our behalf:

• Anthropic, PBC — processes the draft text you submit in order to generate the shortened version, under Anthropic's own API terms and privacy policy.
• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts our backend and processes requests as part of that hosting.

We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not use the content of your drafts to train our own models.

5. International transfers

Anthropic and Cloudflare operate infrastructure in the United States. Where this means data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on the standard contractual safeguards those providers have in place.

6. How long we keep data

• Draft text — not retained by us after your rewrite is returned to you.
• Anonymous install identifier — stays in your own browser until you remove the extension.
• Usage counters (a number, not your draft content) — automatically expire after 48 hours.

7. Your rights

If you're in the UK or EEA, UK GDPR (or the EU GDPR) gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to how it's processed, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us at the email below. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

brevityemail.com does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated to describe what's used and why.

9. Children

Brevity Email is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how Brevity Email handles your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
